I started the collections in late  1980s when I was a heart surgeon and invited to U.S. to join a medical team to develop an artificial heart. I tried to find some special Chinese gifts for Dr. Flemma, chief of the department of cardiac surgery, before I came to U.S.. I went to many places to look at ceramics, cloisonnes, paintings etc.. Thereafter, I was inspired to begin my collections. I gained a lot of experiences and knowledges how to identify Chinese arts and antiques by reading a lot of books and literatures, attending all kind of auctions, touching so many pieces in person no mater real or fake, visiting  museums and antique stores. My interesting is broad including ceramics, bronzes, cloisonnes, furniture, palace items and paintings. I have some serial collections and probably did more serious researches than professionals in certain field in which I have my own opinions. Some of my collections are extremely rare and important, and they may provide more information or fill the blank for museums. I have been thinking over how to handle my collections because of my age.  Online museum might be a good choice for me and a lot of work to get them done. It might not be perfect, but I will do my the best to show the truth to the world.

作者的收藏始于上世纪八十年代末。当时自己作为一名心脏外科医生，被邀请来美国​加入一个医疗专业团队开发人工心脏。来美之前，一直想买一些中国特色的礼品给心脏外科主任 Flemma 医学博士。便去很多地方观看瓷器、掐丝珐琅器和书画等等。从此也开始了对中国文物的收藏。通过大量阅读书籍文献、参加各种拍卖会、亲手上手大量真伪品、参观博物馆、逛古董店旧货店等等，自己增长了很多判断真假文物的经验和知识。自己的收藏范围比较广泛，包括瓷器、青铜器、掐丝珐琅器、古家具、宫廷文房器、书画等等。对某类文物有系统收藏和认真研究，并有自己的独到见解，其程度可能不亚于专业人员。自己的某些藏品非常罕见重要，或许能够为博物馆提供更多信息或弥补遗憾。岁月不饶人，一直在思考这些藏品的归属。网上博物馆也许是不错的选择，工作量会很大，肯定会有不足，在下尽量还原藏品的真实面目，与大众分享。
